
Mickey Redus is a blacksmith, artist, and Certified Texas Master Naturalist dedicated to preserving one of the world’s oldest crafts. A retired oil and gas professional and president of the Houston Area Blacksmithing Association, he combines a lifelong passion for metalworking, conservation, and community service. Through live demonstrations and education, Mickey helps keep the tradition of blacksmithing alive for future generations.
Mickey will present live blacksmithing demonstrations throughout the Saturday morning event in Concan, offering visitors a firsthand look at one of the world’s oldest crafts. Guests will experience the sights, sounds, and skills of traditional blacksmithing while learning how this time-honored trade helped shape communities across Texas and the American West.
