David Casillas is a rancher, conservationist, and the CEO and co-founder of Alianza Raíces Vivas, a nonprofit dedicated to restoring native landscapes while preserving the history and traditions of the American vaquero. Through his work, David brings together cultural heritage, regenerative land stewardship, and education to inspire a deeper connection between people and the land.
On Sunday morning, outside the Old School House, David Casillas will host an informal display exploring the history and enduring legacy of the vaquero. Through stories, history, and insights from his work with Alianza Raíces Vivas, he will highlight how vaquero traditions continue to influence ranching, conservation, and our relationship with the land today.
