Britt Johnson is an Austin-based muralist and painter known for her vibrant colors, expressive portraits, and large-scale public art. Originally from Maryland, she studied studio art at Virginia Tech before making Austin her creative home. Today, Britt transforms walls into joyful works of art that celebrate nature, community, and the unique stories of the places they inhabit.

For TerraTx, Britt is creating an original mural inspired by the native plants and wildlife of the Texas Hill Country. Working alongside community partners Kim Carter, president of the Frio Canyon Garden Club, and Jeff Carter, a Texas Master Naturalist, Britt is translating their knowledge and passion for the region's natural heritage into a vibrant work of public art that celebrates the beauty and biodiversity of Real County. You can see her artwork on the water tank at the Historic Beard House in Leakey.
