Lys Santamaria

Lys Santamaria is a Colombian-born, Austin-based mosaic artist whose vibrant public art celebrates joy, healing, and human connection. Working with hand-cut glass and intricate mosaics, she creates immersive sculptures and installations inspired by nature, color, and the stories that unite communities. Her work can be found in public spaces across Texas, including Austin and Fort Worth.

For TerraTx, Lys is bringing Emerging, a vibrant interactive mosaic sculpture, to its permanent home at The Springs Retreat in Leakey. Featuring colorful mosaic forms and mirrored surfaces, the sculpture invites visitors to pause, see themselves reflected in the artwork, and experience moments of joy, curiosity, and connection in the heart of the Texas Hill Country.
