Andrea Holmes

Andrea Holmes is a Texas-based mural artist from McKinney known for her vibrant, joy-filled bird murals. Often called the “Bird Lady,” Andrea is the creator of the 100 Bird Mural Project, a global initiative to paint bird-inspired murals that celebrate the unique wildlife and stories of communities around the world. Her work transforms public spaces into colorful landmarks that inspire curiosity, connection, and a love for nature.

For TerraTx, Andrea is creating a large-scale mural inspired by the native birds of the Frio Canyon. She has been paired with local birder Lauren Cummings, whose knowledge of the area’s birdlife is helping inspire the artwork. The mural will become one of seven Texas murals in Andrea’s 100 Bird Mural Project, celebrating the beauty and diversity of the birds that call this region home.
